Look at this face, I know the years show
Look at this body, overweight and worn
Exercise causes my breath to blow
I've been going downhill ever since I was born;

Health is now bad, my eyesight is weak
Adding two and two is really a chore
walking is difficult and hurts my feet
Now that I think of it, nothings's easy anymore;

Trying to sleep can be an impossible task
Try TV and look for a movie with a plot
Anything to make me sleepy, is all I ask
There they are, really a lot;

Of infommercals, ads and so much more
And hundreds of reruns of old films and such
Selling houses and cars and ideas galore
All sorts of things, really too much;

So I turn over and close my eyes really tight
And listen to sounds of our cats walking about
They begin to spit and scream and fight
Nearly driving me crazy and I begin to shout;

That instantly awakens my mate
she has to get up early for a hard day of work
trying to be quiet, it's now too late;

She's awake and angry and calls me a jerk
sleep will be imppossible, this night
so I turn on the computer to get on line
it's either that or an unholy fight
I ask for her permission and she says, FINE.";

I turn it on and turn down the sound
I'm ready for surfing and having some fun
oh no !, the error message says the "server is down."
Now I awaken everyone with my seach for a gun.;

Sometimes no matter what anyone tries
at even the best of seasons or days,
events happen that cause agonizing cries
for those times not to happen, everyone prays;

But if Murphy's law overtakes us and prevails
We can accept defeat as a fleeting loss
thumb noses and turn up tails
kick the computer and tell it who's boss;

Unfortunately I'm not that strong
whatever happens, be it not good
it's all my fault and I was wrong
and caused the problem, reaped what I should.

Now that's the way my wife tells the story:

But I have a far different opinion
Gremlins live in our computers, in the rear
I like to overcome the problem and reap the glory,
Take my place in history and have dominion
over the Gremlins and not live in fear.

But that's just the kinda guy I am
