Philip, the son of Benjamin Gruner and Ellen White Fant, the grandson of Wenzel Gruner, the last surviving 4th generation member of our branch of the Gruner family in America, has reached the age where many of us feel we would be happy only to still be living.

Yes, Philip will be ninety-two on February 10, and for the most part doing very well. He is able to maintain his retirement home in the Tennessee countryside, and care for his wife who is no longer able to get about.



He is always cheerful when talking on the phone. For many years a song leader in his church, he admits he still sings around the house because it still makes him feel good.
