Gruner Reunion 2010
GRUNER/ADOLPH REUNION UPDATE

It’s getting close! Only 2 weeks away! Time to visit, chat, and eat as only Gruners can do! We hope to see everyone at the Waffle Farm the weekend of August 21-22, 2010. If not for the whole weekend, at least for the meeting Sunday.

We have some more important information.

First of all, please be aware that the Waffle Farm Campground fills up very quickly. If you plan on camping, it’s best to get hold of them and make your reservations now. There is another campground, Potawatomi, a few miles away. The hotels and B&Bs tend to fill up as well so early reservations would be wise. Web sites are listed below.

It’s always interesting to see the family heirlooms everyone has but, since we will be in an open air pavilion this time, please make sure you bring things that are easily portable so you can take them with you at the end of the day and keep them safe. We’re planning on a show and tell during the program Sunday; that way, we can learn something about all of our treasures. For large items, or if you can’t come, please take a picture and send it to Bruce who will put together a PowerPoint slide show for everyone to enjoy. His address is bgruner@comcast.net Include a short description of it.

We have received some of the mini-biographies requested a couple months ago and will publish what we have in hand by 1 June 2010. This is for the 5th and 6th generations. We will also have short forms at the reunion to help get started. Any questions, contact either Bruce or me, sdhorais@comcast.net, and we’ll be glad to help.

Registration will be Sunday from 12:00 to 2:00, with the potluck starting at 2:00. There isn’t a kitchen but there are plenty of outlets to plug in slow cookers etc. If you have something that uses a lot of electricity, let us know so we can make sure we have what’s needed. If you won’t be in a position to cook, bring drinks, ice, chips, whatever. There will be picnic tables in the pavilion but you’re welcome to bring your own chairs and such if you wish. Please bring your own plates and utensils. The program will follow dinner.

We really want to see as many of our family as possible and look forward to a good time. There will be a couple of signs showing where the Gruner Reserved Parking is at the park.
