I had been playing a lot of video games on a Commodore
computer. Most of them had lots of animated characters
and some of the children's games had animals such as dogs,
cat, and bears.
My hearing isn't what it should be and when I went for an
eye exam for the first time at age 50, my doctor, in a
voice barely audible, said something that I misunderstood.
I thought he said, "don't get concerned, a poppa bear will
hit your eye, but it won't hurt you !

As I sat and viewed the little colored circles on the
instrument and pondered his statement. I reflected upon
my Commodore game playing and reasoned, maybe they use
animated characters to get one's eyes to focus in some
special way for testing. I looked closely for a bear
character to appear, when suddenly a puff of air hit my eye.
I instantly knew that I had misunderstood. What he said was
"A Puff of air will hit your eye but it won't hurt you."
When I returned home and told my wife, Carolyn about it,
I thought she would break something from laughing so hard..
This was especially bad since I had just turned 50 and
thought I was a little more mature and wiser than that.
