Anna was born about 1843 in Reichenberg, Bohemia (now Liberec, Czech
Republic), the third child of Anna Gruner and Philipp Adolf. She died
on 24 January 1861. When she was seventeen, she married Herman
Flandermeyer, the owner of a shoe business; later he became a
stockholder in the Tappen Shoe Factory.
Anna and Herman acquired land on the west side of Morrison Lake and
built a log cabin. Sadly, Anna only lived eleven days after the birth
of her only child, also named Anna.

(1861-1925)
Anna, the only child of Anna Adolf and Herman Flandermeyer was born
13 January 1861 and died 14 July 1925, probably Detroit. She married
Emil Stroh, Detroit businessman and brother of the man who founded
the Stroh Beer Company. They maintained a fine summer home near
Morrison Lake for many years.
Anna and Emil had three children, Norman, Norma and William Henry.
Norman and Norma have no living descendants. William had two sons,
Henry and William; neither has responded to inquiries since the
middle 1970s.
