Pauline, the fifth child of Anne Gruner and Philipp Adolf, was born
in 1848 in Reichenberg, Bohemia (now Liberec, Czech Republic). She
died in Branch County, Michigan about 1930. She came to America in
1856, when she was eight years old. About 1870, she married Russell
Morrison of a well-known area family. Later, Morrison Lake was named
for the family. They bought a farm in Batavia Township, where their
seven children, Edith, Frank, Augusta, Charles Russel, Charlotte,
Clara and Alta were born. Pauline continued on the farm after Russell
died in 1889 at the age of forty-eight.
