Seymour was born on 13 Aug 1891, the son of Philipp Adolph and Clara Fox. And attended the Cornell rural school. He spent his entire life on the farm that had belonged to his grandmother, Anna Gruner Adolf in 1857. It was designated a Centennial Farm for giving been in the family over 100 years.
He became a responsible businessman at an early age, worked with building cement bridges in the area and in Detroit. He later branched into land development, including Adolph Shores and Almary.
Seymour was a member of the Messenger Lake Association, The Branch County Farm Bureau, and the Branch County Historical Society. He was also a regular attendee at the Gruner reunions. He died on 25 Apr 1986, a few month before his ninety-fifth birthday. Active until the end of his days, he died following a tractor accident. His wife, Sarah Smith preceded him in death. They had no children.
